Assessment for Learning
Assessment for Learning is the process of seeking and interpreting evidence for use by learners and their teachers/AOTTs/peers to decide where the learners are in their learning, where they need to go and how best to get there.
So, assessment for learning is:
- Based on learning objectives
- based on offering feedback to pupils focused on improvement
- assessment for learning focused, rather than of learning
To help pupils know where they are in their learning against National Curriculum levels the School Sports Partnership has designed the following self assessment ladders written in pupil friendly language. Schools may wish tdisplayed these levels in their gyms and teachers and pupils make reference to them during and after lessons:
